It is believed that German international midfielder Toni Kroos is set to stay with Real Madrid amidst interest from Manchester United and Arsenal.

It seems that the Real Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane has convinced the Madrid board to offer Kroos a much-improved contract so as to keep the player beyond 2020.

Manchester United is currently looking for a world-class midfielder that will help boost their current midfield and also provide experience to the younger players. It was reported that Manchester United was prepared to make a substantial offer to Madrid to sign Kroos in the summer.

Similarly, Arsenal were also hoping to sign a quality midfielder to improve their midfield. With the release of Tomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta, the Gunners are currently short on numbers and will have hope that Kroos would provide the necessary boost to their midfield.

However, it is believed that Zidane has identified Toni Kroos as a valuable player of his team and that he did not want to lose him during the summer. He has instructed the Real Madrid board to make anything they can to get the player to sign a contract extension that will keep the player after 2020.

The German international currently earns £156,000 per week, and it is expected that his salary will increase substantially in the new contract. Toni Kroos was signed by Carlos Ancelotti in 2014 and has established himself as an outstanding player for Real Madrid.

We will have to wait after the Euros to find out whether the German international will leave the club or not. Zinedine Zidane will be hoping that his midfielder would have signed a contract extension before the tournament so as to dissuade any potential bids from other European clubs.
