Former Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos says that he is starting to enjoy his role at Real Madrid, which takes a lot out of him in a physical sense. At Bayern Munich,Kroos was merely used to keep the ball in the centre of the park.

At Real Madrid, he has been required to do more duties in order to help his team win matches. These duties include the defensive area as well.Kroos has recalled that he is now playing much deeper compared to his Bayern Munich days. Even though he has a lot of responsibility on his shoulders, it is not affected his game much.

Krooshas been used in a 4-3-3 formation. The 25-year-old has been not able to score the same number of goals as he did at Bayern Munich, but his overall game appears to have improved a lot.Kroos is now starting to assert a considerable influence on the game, which was definitely not the case a few years ago. The midfielder has already featured in 32 matches in all competitions for Madrid. If he manages to stay without suffering many major injuries, he could be looking at featuring in more than 50 matches this season.

“At the end of the day the important thing is that you’re able to work well in the team. We tend to play with three central midfielders and at the moment I have the more defensive role, and have done since the beginning of the season. I very much enjoy playing there.Of course the coach sets out certain demands for playing in that position, but those coincide with my own interpretation of how to play there. So in that regard I’m delighted with how things are going,” said Kroos. He may have scored only one goal, but he has an astonishing average pass accuracy of 93%.
