Toni Kroos Biography
Toni Kroos is a German midfield player who plays in the German Bundesliga for Bayern Munich. He is prominent around the world for his displays as the attacking midfielder for Bayern Munich. Despite being only 21 years old, Toni Kroos has already represented the national team on numerous occasions. He is regarded as one of the finest young prospects to come from Germany in recent years. Toni Kroos started his youth career with Greifswalder SV in 1997 before moving to Hansa Rostock in 2002.
His performances for the club in the youth academy soon led him to become one of the most scouted players in Germany. Finally, Bayern Munich decided to sign the youngster in 2006. Initially, he spent only one season with the youth Academy of Bayern Munich before being promoted to the reserve team in 2007. Here again, Toni Kroos spent only one season before being promoted to the senior team having made four goals in the 13 appearances.
Toni Kroos’ debut for Bayern Munich came in the match against Energie Cottbus and it did not take long for him to show why Bayern Munich had promoted him so quickly. Within a few minutes after making his appearance in the match, Toni Kroos set up two goals for Miroslav Klose. Kroos was once again instrumental in helping the team to a UEFA cup victory over Red Star Belgrade.
In his first season with Bayern Munich, Kroos had made 12 appearances in the League with 20 appearances in all competitions. He had scored the one solitary goal against Red Star Belgrade. The 2009-10 season started pretty well for Kroos, although he found first-team opportunities extremely limited. In the first six months of the season, Kroos had made seven League appearances. Bayern Munich decided that the player would develop at an even greater pace if he had the opportunity to play regularly. As a spell, he was loaned out to Bayern Leverkusen in the January of 2009. The loan spell proved to be a great success for Kroos, as he scored his first League goal.
After the first impressive six months, Kroos spent another year with Bayern Leverkusen during which he made enormous progress. He made 33 League appearances and scored nine goals along with two appearances in the Cup as well. At the start of the 2010-11 season, Kroos returned to Bayern Munich and immediately found himself as a first-team regular.
On the return to Bayern Munich, Kroos made 27 appearances in the season, while also making seven continental appearances. He had won the Bundesliga in the 2007-08 season with Bayern Munich. Other achievements also include the DFB-Pokal, DFB-Ligapokal, and the DFB-Supercup.
Internationally, Kroos made his debut in 2010 in a match against Argentina. It did not take long for him to get the call-up to the World Cup 2010. He was one of the influential figures of the German team at the World Cup. Perhaps, his best performance came in the 4-1 win over England.
