Toni Kroos has played an important role for Bayern Munich since the arrival of Pep Guardiola being a consistent player for the German team which is why they are having talks with the 23 years old midfielder trying to extend his current contract which expires in 2015.

Kroos told Kicker-Sportmagazin: “I am in touch with Bayern Munich regarding a new deal’’.

“This will get more important as the expiry date in 2015 approaches more and more. There is no infinite amount of time. Everyone knows that’’.

“I have a basic interest in signing a new contract. If I keep on going like I am, everything will be fine.I am not a fan of telling people I will be a player of Bayern Munich in 10 years’ time. So much can happen. Five-year deals can be cancelled after just one season.”

He said that he is happy with the club and would be interested in staying with Bayern Munich even longer than 2015 as he feels to be in the right place under the tutelage of the former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.

Kroos has already stated that he feels comfortable playing in any midfield position.

‘’I don’t care whether it’s at 6,8 or 10. I have shown that I can play everywhere’’. Kroos said.

Which is a huge advantage for any coach but specially for someone like Guardiola who enjoys switching out players and testing them out in different positions, this is a big asset that can favor any team and in moments when players get injured it’s something that can make the difference between winning a league or falling short.

All of these are factors that make it clear why Munich are attempting to secure the services of Toni Kroos with a more lengthy and permanent contract.
