There has been a lot of speculation about the future of midfielder Toni Kroos, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer. After being brought into the Bayern Munich fraternity by former manager Louis van Gaal, the 24-year-old is thought to be a major transfer target for United. The Premier league outfit are set to appoint van Gaal as their next manager, which will be a major boost towards their ambitions to get Kroos. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been one of best midfielders in Europe over the last few years.

United were also in desperate need of some creativity in the centre of the park. They have already signed Juan Mata from Chelsea for around £ 37 million. They do not seem to have done with strengthening the midfield, as Kroos could be the next player to arrive at Old Trafford. He is out of contract next summer, but former Bayern midfielder Stefen Effenberg says that the player should consider remaining at the Allianz arena. According to him, Kroos is an important stage in his career where a wrong move could spoil the rest of his career.

He says that Kroos will also have the best opportunity to win titles if he stays at Bayern, who have lifted three trophies already this season.

“Put it this way – if you have the opportunity to form a successful era at Bayern, you should think two or three times about what step to make. Every player feels enormously well in Munich and at the end of the season, there are titles. Kroos is a key figure, a transfer shouldn’t be an issue. He is an important and crucial player – for the system and the new philosophy,” said the former midfielder. United are expected to come with a £ 20 million offer for Kroos.
