Real Madrid defender Alvaro Arbeloa is of the opinion that Barcelona have a much tougher run in in the last eight matches of the season compared to his club.

Even though the Catalan club have a four-point advantage in the table, this difficult run is likely to make them dropped points and Arbeloa reckons that Madrid should be in a position to take advantage of it. Carlo Ancelotti’s men have suffered a huge dip in form since the turn of the year. Their six-point advantage has been converted into a four-point deficit in the matter of a few weeks.

Barcelona have simply look irresistible in the last couple of months with Lionel Messi leading the pack. In this position, the Catalan club are seen as the favourites for yet another la Liga title. After a trophy less campaign, victory in the league will be a massive boost for Luis Enrique in his first season at the club. Both teams have relatively the same tough opponents between now and the end of the campaign, but Barcelona will also be up against Atletico Madrid away from home. Sevilla and Valencia are some of the tough remaining matches for the club. Madrid recently managed a 9-1 win over Granada to boost the confidence.

“Barcelona have a tougher schedule than we have.We aim to win all our remaining games. That is our goal, even though we know it will not be easy.Sometime you spill points when you least expect it.We have two important games in La Liga coming up before the Champions League match versus Atletico Madrid. We want to head into that game in good form, so we must beat Rayo Vallecano and Eibar. The 9-1 win over Eibar was a big boost. It has helped us focus,” said Arbeloa.
